FAQS
About our Helmets
Are JL helmets certified?
Absolutely! All JL helmets are certified to meet or exceed the ECE standard making them 100% legal for use on Australian roads. Each JL helmet comes with an official ECE sticker, confirming its compliance with these stringent safety standards. The ECE or 'Economic Commission for Europe' is a European safety certification recognized internationally and accepted for use on Australian roads. This certification means our helmets have passed rigorous tests, including assessments of impact resistance, energy absorption, and overall structural integrity. These tests cover performance in various conditions, such as extreme temperatures, humidity, and different impact angles, ensuring the helmet’s safety in real-world scenarios. Meeting the ECE standard ensures that JL helmets are legal for use on Australian roads, providing riders with reliable protection. For more information about helmet standards, please consult your state government's road safety regulations or visit the official ECE certification guidelines.

How can I select the right helmet size?
Every product on our site, including helmets, comes with a custom sizing chart available for easy viewing just below the size selection panel. Simply click on the "Size Chart" button to view detailed instructions on how to measure your head for the correct helmet fit. The chart provides guidance on head circumference and other relevant measurements to ensure you choose the right size for maximum comfort and safety. If you're unsure, following the chart will help you find the best fit.
What are JL helmets made from?
JLMoto helmets are constructed from ABS thermoplastic, a highly durable and impact-resistant material. ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is known for its strength, lightweight properties, and flexibility, making it ideal for helmet manufacturing. This thermoplastic material is designed to absorb impact energy in the event of an accident, reducing the force transmitted to the rider's head. ABS also provides excellent resistance to heat and environmental factors, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability, whether you're riding in urban environments or more challenging conditions.
What are the small plastic inserts on my visor?
The small plastic inserts on your visor are part of the Pinlock system, an anti-fog solution designed to keep your vision clear in varying weather conditions. These inserts, known as Pinlock lenses, are sold separately and attach to Pinlock-compatible visors. Once installed on the inside of the visor, they create a sealed layer of air that prevents moisture from forming, reducing fogging and enhancing visibility during your ride.
Where are JL helmets manufactured?
Our helmets are crafted with quality and precision, with helmet shells sourced from handpicked, trusted suppliers across Asia. Each supplier is carefully selected to meet our high standards for safety and durability. We collaborate closely with these manufacturers to ensure that every helmet not only meets our strict quality guidelines but also exceeds the safety expectations of our riders.
